Camera Vocabulary


Vocabulary:

These are some camera vocabulary terms and definitions that you should know if you want to work with a professional camera.

Electromagnetic Spectrum- range of all possible frequencies of electromagnetic radiation

Diaphragm- Thin structure with opening at the center to stop the passage of light

Image sensor- Device that converts the optical image into electrical signal

Visible Spectrum- The portion of elecrtomagnetic spectrum visible to the human eye

Shutter- Device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time

Exposure- Amount of light allowed to fall on each area unit of a photographic medium during the process of taking a photograph

Depth of Field-  Distance between nearest and farthest objects in a scene

F Stop- The measure of the aperture setting on a lens

Focal Length- Distance between center of lens and sharp image projected by it 

This is a picture of the T3 Canon Rebel,it has many different buttons that do many
different things, such as the shutter button, the on and of switch, and the lens realese button.
